Legal notes and terms of use
Last updated: 13 September 2026
This page says who publishes Recaplica, what the content you read is and on what terms you may use it. By using the site you accept them. The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy & cookie policy, which completes this page.
1. Publisher
Recaplica (www.recaplica.com) is published by Curi S.r.l., with registered office at Via Don Luigi Sturzo 30, 73010 Surbo (LE), Italy. VAT number and tax code IT05472000750, registered with the Lecce Companies Register, REA LE-369498, share capital EUR 10,000.00 fully paid up. Email: [email protected].
The editor-in-chief, responsible for publishing decisions, is named on the About page. This information is provided under Article 7 of Italian Legislative Decree 70/2003. If you use the site for purposes outside a trade or profession you are a consumer and the protections of the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005) apply to you.
2. What Recaplica is
Recaplica is an explainer portal. It is not a periodical, it is not a registered newspaper and does not intend to be one: it does not publish news, it is updated with no predetermined periodicity and it does not receive public press subsidies. It is therefore not subject to the registration requirement of Article 5 of Italian Law 47/1948.
3. What the content is for, and what it is not
Recaps are for learning and general information. They are not medical, psychological, nutritional, legal, tax, financial or other professional advice, and they do not replace the textbooks adopted by your school or university. For decisions about your health, your money or your rights, consult a professional; in an emergency call 112 (in Italy) or your local emergency number.
Health, nutrition, supplements, medicines and sport. Some Recaps explain how the human body, nutrients, supplements (for example creatine or arginine), medicines or training work. They describe what research and regulators such as EFSA or the Italian Ministry of Health say: they are not a diagnosis, a prescription or a diet, supplementation or training programme, and they do not replace your relationship with a doctor, pharmacist or dietitian. They do not recommend or promote any product or brand. If you take a medicine, do not stop it or change the dose without your doctor. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are under 18, any supplementation or change in diet or training must be decided with a doctor and, for minors, with your parents.
Every Recap starts from verified sources, listed at the bottom of the page, and is reviewed before publication. It may still contain errors, simplifications or data that age over time: the update date is shown at the top of each Recap. If you spot a mistake, write to us (article 9): correction is part of the method.
4. How the content is made
Recaps are written by the Recaplica newsroom with the help of artificial intelligence systems, following the method published on the site: authoritative sources consulted during writing, independent review before publication, human oversight and the publisher's editorial responsibility. This statement applies to all texts on the site unless otherwise indicated.
5. Intellectual property and what you may do with the content
The Recaplica name, the logo, the Recap format, the graphics, the texts, the mind maps, the quizzes, the flashcards, the presentations and the organised collection of content (database) belong to Curi S.r.l. or its licensors and are protected by copyright law (Italian Law 633/1941, including the sui generis database right), by industrial property law and by these terms. Third-party trademarks and names mentioned in Recaps belong to their respective owners. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the content under these terms.
What you may do, without asking:
- read, print and save Recaps for personal use and study;
- use Recaps, maps and downloadable presentations in class, in a lesson or in a study group, on a non-profit basis, crediting "Recaplica" and linking to the page;
- quote short passages in essays, research and articles, with the source and the link (Article 70 of Law 633/1941);
- link to any page of the site.
What you may not do, without our written consent:
- republish a Recap, or substantial parts of it, on other sites, apps, channels, handouts or publications, including translated or rewritten;
- sell, rent or include the content in paid products or services, including commercial courses and learning platforms;
- remove references to Recaplica or present the content as your own;
- reproduce the format, name or logo for a similar service.
For other uses write to [email protected]: we are glad to hear from schools and non-profit organisations. Anyone who breaks these rules loses the right to use the content; damages and any other legal remedy remain available.
6. Automated access, scraping and AI training
The site is made to be read by people. Without our written consent you may not: systematically extract or copy the content with bots, crawlers, scrapers or other automated means; circumvent technical protections (for example the anti-bot check on search); overload or interfere with the site's systems.
Curi S.r.l. expressly reserves, under Article 70-quater of Italian Law 633/1941 and Article 4 of Directive (EU) 2019/790, the right of text and data mining on the site's content, including its use to train, fine-tune or feed artificial intelligence models. The reservation is also expressed in machine-readable form. It covers texts, images, maps, presentations, structured data and metadata, including through cached copies or archives, and any purpose of training, dataset creation, development or testing of automated systems. Statutory exceptions for scientific research remain unaffected. Search engines may index the pages according to the rules in robots.txt.
Requests for authorisation go to [email protected] and must state who is asking, for what purpose, which content and by what means. Circumventing the site's technical protection measures is a breach of these terms (Articles 102-quater and 102-quinquies of Law 633/1941).
7. The "Request a Recap" service
You can ask the newsroom for a Recap that does not exist yet, from the Request page. The service is free and works like this:
- Who can use it: you need an email address and consent to its use for confirmation and notification. If you are under 14, ask a parent to make the request for you.
- What to ask for: study topics and general knowledge. The newsroom may decline, postpone or adapt a request at its discretion, in particular for topics concerning health, money, safety, individual people, controversial current affairs or anything outside the site's editorial line. Declined requests are not processed and the topic is not published.
- Timing: delivery "within half an hour" is our goal, not a contractual commitment. Requests may take longer, or may not be fulfilled, without any liability arising.
- The result: the published Recap remains the property of Curi S.r.l. and follows the rules of article 5; it is visible to all readers, not only to the person who asked. We do not publish your name or your email.
- Custom Recaps: some Recaps can be reached only by direct link. The same rules apply; whoever shares the link is responsible for whom they share it with.
Do not use the form to send other people's personal data, offensive content or repeated requests: abusive requests are discarded and access to the service may be restricted.
8. Tools: map, presentations, print
The "Make your own mind map" tool, the downloadable presentations and Recap printing are offered free of charge and "as is". The files you download or generate are subject to article 5: for personal, study and non-profit educational use. What you write in the tools (edited maps, the "Explain it yourself" exercise, quiz results) stays in your browser and is not sent to us: if you clear your browsing data you lose it, and we cannot recover it.
9. Reports, corrections and removal
If you believe that content is inaccurate, infringes a right of yours (copyright, trademark, privacy, reputation) or breaks the law, write to [email protected] with the page address, the problem and, if you ask for removal, the ground you rely on. We respond as a priority: we check and, where appropriate, correct or remove the content. Corrections are reflected by updating the Recap's date.
10. Sources and external links
The sources consulted are listed at the bottom of each Recap, and the text contains links to other sites. We choose them with care, but we do not control their content, availability or rules: when you open them, those sites' terms and privacy policies apply. A link is neither an endorsement nor a guarantee. Recaplica's Telegram channel also lives on a third-party platform: its terms apply, we do not guarantee message delivery and you can leave it whenever you want.
11. Advertising
Recaplica may be funded by advertisements served by third-party networks. Ads are recognisable as such and do not influence the choice or content of Recaps: the newsroom does not write content on behalf of advertisers. Any sponsored content or affiliate links will always be disclosed. Data processing related to advertising is described in the privacy policy and activated only with your consent, where present. Individual ads are selected automatically by the network, not by us: if you see a misleading one, let us know.
12. Liability
The site and its services are provided free of charge and "as is". We may change, suspend or remove content, tools and services at any time, including without notice, for example for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control. To the extent permitted by law, Curi S.r.l. does not warrant that the content is complete, up to date or error-free, nor that the site is always available or free of defects, and is not liable for damage arising from the use of the site, the content or downloaded files, from interruptions or from third-party sites. This clause does not exclude liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence (Article 1229 of the Italian Civil Code), for personal injury, or the rights that the law grants to consumers on a mandatory basis.
13. Changes
We may update these terms, for example when the site introduces new services. The version in force is the one published here, with the date at the top; significant changes are also announced on Recaplica's Telegram channel, where active. Continuing to use the site after a change counts as acceptance. Previous versions can be requested from [email protected].
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Italian law. The courts of Lecce have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice, if you are a consumer, to the mandatory jurisdiction of the courts of your place of residence or domicile (Article 66-bis of the Italian Consumer Code). If you are a consumer residing in another EU Member State, the mandatory protections of your country's law remain unaffected.
15. Language
These terms are written in Italian and translated into English for convenience. In case of discrepancy, the Italian text prevails.
